“The platform is open-source? Awesome! But what do I do after installing it?”
Enterprise software platforms are not plug-and-play, where you install them and walk away. They are frameworks you work with after install. For example, you wouldn’t install a database platform without later setting up schemas/instances to be used by applications.
Similarly, products in this space require work streams after installation. The requested work may align with strategic projects and cyclical milestones, or smaller tactical ones to fight one battle at a time (e.g. content gathering job, logical model, downstream integration). With proprietary tools, that work is delivered by either the vendor or their partner ecosystems. But with OCP, the work can be delivered by anybody. That means you! So jump in, bootstrap yourself and mold the platform to meet your requirements. Once you start working with OCP, we welcome you to participate in the Community discussion forum, the GitHub source project, and with consulting services.
